Biography

Raja Affendi Raja Ali is a professor of medicine and the current Dean of the National University of Malaysia (UKM) Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is also a consultant gastroenterologist at the Department of Medicine. He obtained his honours degree in medicine from the National University of Ireland, as well as numerous prizes and accolades for his academic and clinical teaching achievements. In 2017, he was elected President-elect of the Malaysian Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and he has held numerous other positions, including council member of the Asia Pacific Association of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy (2018-2020), member of the Asian Organization for Crohn's and Colitis' educational committee (2018-2020), member of the Malaysian Academy of Medicine (2016), and chairman of the local organising committee for the Asia Pacific Association of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy.
